ICONS

My icons are acrylic or oil paintings on fabric placed on specific icon wood.

In the icon creation, I am being drawn by copying and transforming the sacred historical works. I am fascinated by subjecting myself to the laws of ancient ornament and its rules. I am interested in the intimate construction of their own world, and the level of perfection they can achieve. 

Art as a mystical act of trust, flowing from faith into the uncreated reality, in itself belongs to the sacrum and can not exist outside of it. That is what happens when we create from the impulse of the heart, from delight.
